How does the easee eye test work?
To complete the test you need an internet connection. Your smartphone will serve as a remote during the test and the test itself will be displayed on your computer screen. To take the test you will need to take a 3-meter distance, and the entire test takes about 15 minutes on average. During the test, you will be presented various images similar to the famous letter chart. Based on your input as to what images you can see and which you cannot, we can assess your refractive error. The test consists of four parts. The first part is to assess your habitual visual acuity, or what your vision is under every day circumstances. If you use glasses or contacts, we will test your vision while you’re wearing these. The next step is to determine your refractive error. This part will always be done without glasses or contacts. The third part is to identify whether you are shortsighted or farsighted. The last part we will test the need for, angle and strength of a cylinder correction. During the entirety of the test, it is important you follow the instructions closely, you are honest whether you can see the image or not and avoid squinting or leaning. Remember: the test is meant to deliver an accurate prescription, it is not a competition.
